Mission: Foster urban dwellers connection to nature, food, and economic opportunities.
Price: Free/Volunteer
Eligibility: Anyone
Layout of Garden: 3 main planting beds and several smaller perennial beds, fruit trees, and full water access. Tools and seeds are available for sharing.
Garden Hours: Garden hours are not set, but we are working there most mornings. Self-guided tours are encouraged. (The greenhouse and chicken house are locked when garden laborers are not present.)
Special Events: Hosts educational sessions, school groups, mission residents, and the public. Dubuque County ISU Extension hosts the Farm-to-Table Fundraiser with part of the proceeds going to our greenhouse operations.

When should I get in touch if I’m interested in gardening or volunteering?
Anytime, but May-October is the most ideal season.
Where does the food go?
The garden’s food goes to the Mission Kitchen to be distributed and prepared for those in need. Food is also given to volunteers and other groups serving the community.
How was the garden started?
Elbow grease, fundraising, and a partnership with the City of Dubuque.
